Water quality trading is an important tool for farmers, ranchers, private industry, the wastewater treatment industry, the forest industry and local and state governments.
The 2nd National Water Quality Trading Conference highlighted the economic and environment benefits of this practice. Participants explored the opportunities and challenges of trading programs, interacting with regulators and those experienced in water quality trading. Breakout sessions addressed topics ranging from trading with nonpoint sources to measuring program success and the role of government.
